Minerals aren't heavily present in Hokura's crust, so they are mined on Mikage and shipped back to the surface.
Transportation
Shipping and transportation is primarily done by rail and over land roads. The lack of bitumen means there is no asphalt and the roads are all dirt, gravel, or cobbled.
